A U3 smart drive allows you to carry not just files and personal data but  
software programs too, so you can turn a borrowed computer into your personal workspace. It’s the ultimate 
in personal and portable computing.

NOTE:  The U3 smart drive is also a regular USB storage device. Although the 
U3 smart drive features are supported only on the Windows operating  
systems listed above, it will still function as an ordinary USB storage drive on any computer that has a USB 
port.   
 
2. How to start  to use U3 Smart Drive 

Step 1: Insert the U3 smart drive in your USB port on your computer as 

 

   shown here.

Step 2: A U3 icon will appear in your system tray in the bottom right corner of your screen. The following 

message will pop up to indicate that the U3 Launchpad, the desktop manager that handles the 
software programs on the U3 smart drive, is running on your computer and is ready to use.  

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Note: On first insertion an animated introduction will automatically run, which will briefly present the basic
