seconds — Polling interval. (Range: 64-1024 seconds, in powers of 2)

The polling interval is 64 seconds.

Global Configuration mode

If a user enters a value which is not an exact power of two, the nearest power-

of-two value is applied.

The following example sets the polling time for the Simple Network Time 

Protocol (SNTP) client to 1024 seconds.

console(config)# sntp client poll timer 1024

Use the sntp server command in Global Configuration mode to configure the 

device to use Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP) to request and accept 

SNTP traffic from a specified server. To remove a server from the list of SNTP 

servers, use the no form of this command.

ip-address | hostname} [priority priority] [poll] [key key-

number]
no sntp server

ip-address — IP address of the server.

hostname — Hostname of the server. (Range: 1-158 characters)

poll — Enables polling.

•

key-number — Authentication key to use when sending packets to this 

peer. 

(Range: 1-4294967295)
