The output signal is generated at PCM code level if you the test is carried out toward
digital channel and at analogue level over POTS interface. In this case the maximum
output level is 0dBm and it is referred to a characteristic impedance of 600 Ohm.
Besides the tone generator, you can also use this test to perform phonic band
measurements both at PCM and Analogue level. Possible measurements are:
•  Frequency
•  Level in effective value (RMS)
•  Noise
•  Line’s round trip delay (ECHO)

With D2000Lite it is possible to carry out the sole round trip
delay feature. The relative test page is shown as ‘Tone
Generator & ECO’. See § 3.13.3.
The test allows to send on line a single tone or to carry out a scansion of the band
both, in manual and automatic mode. The level value is definable by the user as well
as the scanning time and the delta frequency in Hz.
Used in couple with a remote receiver it is possible to check for instance, the correct
opening and transparency of the audio channel in case of conversion into digital
lines, or it is possible to check the quality of the band considering parameters such as
distortion and line attenuation.

The Tone Generator and Measurement test over POTS requires
AB2000N option.
3.13.1. Setting up a Tone Generator and Measurement test
