Data Collection Browser User’s Guide

Starting the dcBrowser Client for the First Time

Select Start > Programs > dcBrowser. A splash screen appears showing
the dcBrowser title and version number.

To set the IP address and port number of the dcBrowser gateway, tap
(Press Here for Setup).

Press Enter to save your configuration.

Connecting to the dcBrowser Gateway

After you have loaded and configured the dcBrowser client on your 700
Series, change the following parameters in the .ini file for the dcBrowser
gateway.

For the software-only dcBrowser gateway, the .ini file is DCB.INI. For the
dcBrowser on an Intermec Application Server, the .ini file is WBS.INI.

To change the INI parameters

Open the .ini file in a text editor such as Notepad.

Change the parameters to the required values.

Save the changes to the .ini file.

Exit the text editor.

You are now ready to start the dcBrowser client and connect to the gateway.

To start the dcBrowser client on your 700 Series

• Select Start > Programs > dcBrowser.

Note: If your 700 Series is running Pocket PC 2002, select Start >
dcBrowser.

Note: If the dcBrowser client has not been configured with a valid IP
address and port number, the IP configuration screen automatically
appears.
