Verifying the dcBrowser Client is Loaded
If your CK30 or CK31 came preloaded with the dcBrowser client, go to
If you want to update the dcBrowser client installed on your CK30 or
CK31, go to the next section, “Loading and Launching the dcBrowser
Client.”
To determine if you have the dcBrowser client loaded on your computer
• On your computer, access the System Main Menu by pressing the green
C key and then the orange B key. A list of applications that are
loaded on your computer appears. Look through this list for dcBrowser:
• If you see dcBrowser on the list, you have the dcBrowser client
.
• If you do not see dcBrowser on the list, you do not have the
dcBrowser client loaded. See the next section,
Loading and Launching the dcBrowser Client
The files you need are on the PC where you loaded the dcBrowser toolkit:
C:\
Program Files
\
Intermec
\dcBrowser\Client\CK30\DCBCK30.CAB
or
C:\
Program Files
\
Intermec
\dcBrowser\Client\CK31\DCBCK31.CAB
To permanently load the dcBrowser client:
• Copy
DCBCK30.CAB
to the CK30 and install the .cab file. For help
copying and loading applications, see the CK30 Handheld Computer
User’s Manual
 (P/N 073528).
• Or copy
DCBCK31.CAB
to the CK31 and install the .cab file. For help
copying and loading applications, see the CK31 Handheld Computer
User’s Manual
 (P/N 075207).
The dcBrowser client must be launched before the CK30 or CK31 can
communicate with the dcBrowser gateway.
By default, the dcBrowser .cab file creates a shortcut on the CK30 or CK31
in the Startup folder so that the dcBrowser client launches automatically
every time the device is warm or cold booted. If you prefer to manually
launch the dcBrowser client, select System Main Menu > File Manager to
locate and delete the dcBrowser shortcut from these two folders:
Note: You can install both the dcBrowser client and the TE2000 terminal
emulation application on your CK30 or CK31 if you configure at least one
to use TCP/IP. If both applications use UDP Plus (which is the default), a
connection conflict occurs when you reboot.
