Configuration number 
and serial number 
The label in the battery compartment 
contains the CK1 configuration number 
(MAT’L) and serial number (SN).  
You need to remove both the battery door 
and battery to see the label. For help, see 
“Removing the Battery” on page 8. 
Operating system

Follow the instructions in “Checking the 
CK1 Firmware Version” on page 106. 
 
 
Sending the CK1 in for Service 
If you send the CK1 in for service, it is your responsibility to 
save the data and configuration. Intermec is responsible only for 
ensuring that the keypad and other hardware features match the 
original configuration when repairing or replacing your CK1. 
Cleaning the Scanner Window and Screen 
To keep the CK1 in good working order, you may need to 
perform these minor maintenance tasks: 
•  Clean the scanner window. 
•  Clean the screen. 
Clean the scanner window and screen as often as needed for the 
environment in which you are using the CK1.  
To clean the scanner window and screen 
1  
Press the p key to turn off the CK1. 
2  Gently wipe the scanner window and screen following these 
guidelines: 
•  Try using a soft cloth moistened with plain water to wipe 
the scanner window and screen. Wring out any excess 
water before you begin. 
•  To remove stubborn dirt from the scanner window and 
screen, you may use a soft cloth moistened with a  
non-abrasive glass cleaner.
