Backup Tool
The “Backup Tool” can be used to back up the unit’s data and settings to a memory
card.
“Backup” is the process of storing a duplicate of the data or settings of this unit on
a commercially available memory card (PC card, CF card). “Restoring” is the
process of returning backup data to its original location.
To prepare for unforeseen situations, it is recommended that you regularly back up
data from the unit to a memory card, etc. If you retain a backup copy of data, you
will always be able to restore the device to the state it was in when the backup copy
of the data was made, even in the case when a full reset operation has been
performed.
Note:
It is also possible to back up the data on a PC.
The password set using Password on the Control Panel cannot be backed up.
Caution:
Use a memory card type whose operation has been verified by Sharp. Using
other types of memory cards could result in damage to the main unit and/or the
memory card.
Do not operate the unit while backup or restoring is in progress. This could
prevent correct backup or restoring.
Always use the AC adapter when using a memory card for backup or restoring.
To Back Up
Note:
To back up the data and settings of the main unit, a memory card with a free
storage space of 28 MB is required. However, the required free storage space
differs with the amount of data.
When the “Backup Tool” is launched, the free storage space is indicated
automatically.
1.  Close all software running on the main unit.

2.  If not already connected, connect the AC adapter to the main unit.

3.  Attach a memory card to the main unit.

4.  Choose the START button followed by PROGRAMS. Then choose SHARP
Applications and select “Backup Tool”.
The Backup Tool dialog box appears, and the empty storage space of the
memory card is indicated together with other information.

5.  Choose the memory card to serve as the backup destination, and then tap the
Create Backup Data button.
