Phaser 540 Color Printer
One dark, horizontal band 
appears on the print 
approximately 241 mm 
(9.5 in) from the leading 
edge.
The media “stalled” for a few seconds 
in the fuser.  The cause:
Media is installed wrong side up.
Media is curled.
The fuser needs to be replaced.
The printer needs adjustment.
Turn over the media in the media tray.
Replace the media.
Replace the fuser.
Call Service.
Front panel reports:
Transfer Kit:replace
The transfer kit (transfer roller and 
waste bin) is worn out.
Replace the transfer kit.
Toner spots appear on the 
backside of the media.
The transfer kit is worn out.
Replace the transfer kit.
Light horizontal bands appear 
in all colors.
The contact on the transfer roller is not 
working properly.
