When the carriage clamp closes, the bottom of the pile (not gripped in the clamp) to be bound 

is larger than the paper thickness in the clamp.

This is frequent when using light paper (60 gsm - 15lb bond) or pre folded paper and increase 

with the paper pile thickness.

To take this situation into account, a correction on the lateral gluing cylinders separation can 

be done with the following icon :

• AUTO function activated :

The thickness correction is automatically adjusted depending on the measured 

paper pile thickness.

• AUTO function NOT activated :

The thickness correction can be modified manually by the operator.

Button: Activation / Deactivation of the AUTO function.

Manual change of the thickness correction.

 When the correction is zero :

The distance between the lateral gluing cylinders is equal to the measured 

paper pile thickness at closing of the carriage.

• When the correction is different than zero : 

The distance between the lateral gluing cylinders is equal to : 

The measured paper pile thickness at closing of the carriage.

A correction depending on the measured thickness.

When correction = 1.0 :  if measured thickness is 0 

-> correction is 0.0. 

if measured thickness is 30 mm (1.2")  -> correction is 0.5 mm (1/64"). 

if measured thickness is 60 mm (2.36")  -> correction is 1.0 mm (3/64").

When correction = 2.0 :  if measured thickness is 0 

-> correction is 0.0. 

if measured thickness is 30 mm (1.2")  -> correction is 1.0 mm (3/64"). 

if measured thickness is 60 mm (2.36")  -> correction is 2.0 mm (5/64").
