4.8.2 Setting the thickness of the glue film:
Using this button you can modify the thickness of the glue film applied to the spine of the book.
Two operating modes are possible, depending on whether or not the "AUTO" function is active.
When the "AUTO" function is active, the thickness of the glue film is automatically
adjusted according to the book to be bound.
When the "AUTO" function is inactive, the operator can change the thickness of
the glue film manually.
4.8.3 Setting lateral pressure:
This button enables you to change the pressure applied laterally to the book during clamping.
Two operating modes are possible, depending on whether or not the "AUTO" function is active.
When the "AUTO" function is active, the lateral pressure applied during clamping
is automatically adjusted according to the book to be bound.
When the "AUTO" function is inactive, the operator can modify the lateral pressure
manually.
4.8.4 Setting the spine pressure:
This button enables you to change the pressure applied to the spine of the book during
clamping. Two operating modes are possible, depending on whether or not the "AUTO"
function is active.
When the "AUTO" function is active, the spine pressure applied during clamping is
automatically adjusted according to the book to be bound.
When the "AUTO" function is inactive, the operator can modify the spine pressure
manually.
4.8.5 Setting the glue drying time before cover nipping:
This button enables you to change the glue drying time before nipping the book cover.
Two possibilities exist, according to whether or not the "AUTO" function is active.
When the "AUTO" function is active, the drying time before nipping is
automatically adjusted according to the book to be bound.
When the "AUTO" function is inactive, the operator can modify the drying time
before cover nipping.
• In "with cover" mode
: This time should be as short as possible.
However, when using light (or pre-folded) paper and lightweight covers, the drying time
can be increased (

4 seconds) to produce a book with a well-squared spine.
The value can range from 0.8 seconds to 8 seconds in steps of 0.8 seconds.
Default value: 0.8 seconds.
