In the VPN network example in the following figure, the router functions as a VPN gateway 
for a main office. The VPN Client is installed on a remote computer that connects to the 
Internet through a DSL modem. The VPN Client connects to the VPN router and establishes 
a secure IPSec VPN connection with the router so that the remote user can access a file 
server or any other resources at the main office.
