ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet Web Managed Switch 
Link-Down Power Saving. Reduces the power consumption considerably when the 
network cable is disconnected. When the network cable is reconnected, the switch 
detects an incoming signal and restores normal power.
The setting of the administrative mode is either Enable or Disable. The default setting is 
Enable.
Note:
You can use only browser-based access to manage the power 
savings options. You cannot use the ProSAFE Plus Utility to do so.
To use browser-based access to manage the power saving options:
1. 
Connect your computer to the same network as the switch.
You can use a WiFi or wired network connection, or connect directly to a switch that is 
off-network using an Ethernet cable.
2. 
Launch a web browser.
3. 
In the address field of your web browser, enter the IP address of the switch.
If you do not know the IP address of the switch, see 
The login window opens.
4. 
Enter the switch’s password in the password field.
The switch’s default password is password.
The Switch Information page displays.
5. 
Select System > Management > Power Saving Mode.
6. 
Enable or disable the power saving options:
EEE. By default, the Disable radio button is selected. To enable EEE, select the 
Enable radio button.
Short Cable Power Saving. By default, the Enable radio button is selected. To 
disable short power cable saving, select the Disable radio button.
Link-Down Power Saving. By default, the Enable radio button is selected. To 
disable link-down power saving, select the Disable radio button.
7. 
Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
