Chapter 8  Providing Web Conferences for Those Outside Your Company
A second URL for MeetingPlace Web should resolve to the
IP address of the external MeetingPlace Web server for
Internet users.
The drawback to this configuration is that your internal URL
would be exposed to external users. To prevent this, you can
customize e-mail notifications to not include any “Click to
Attend” URLs. However, doing so impacts the end users’
experience.
Configuring the MeetingPlace Web Server to use
Secure Socket Layer (SSL)
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) helps ensure that the security of the
information shared in a web conference is not compromised.
Before you can configure MeetingPlace Web to use SSL, make
sure you have done the following:
Obtained a certificate from an authorized Certificate
Authority. For example, if your MeetingPlace Web URL is
xyz.company.com, you need to apply for a certificate
specifically for xyz.company.com. Consult your IT
Department for assistance.
Applied the certificate to the MeetingPlace Web web site.
Consult your IT Department for assistance.
Enabled the SSL option by placing a check in the Use Secure
Web Server (https://) box from the Agent Service tab in the
MeetingPlace Gateway Configurations interface. In addition,
you must enable SSL security in IIS.
Configured your web server to require an SSL connection
from the WebConnect Admin page. See page 228 for
instructions.
To enable SSL security in IIS:
1.  From Start | Programs | Administrative Tools, select Internet
Services Manager.
