Interface Assembly on the ONS 15454
Product Number: 15454-EIA-RETRO=
This document describes how to attach the foam standoffs included in the EIA Retro-Fit Kit to the BNC
and SMB Electrical Interface Assemblies (EIAs) on the Cisco ONS 15454.
Use this document with the Cisco ONS 15454 Installation and Operations Guide when working with
EIAs or any other system components.
You will need a calibrated torque driver set to 9 in-lbs to perform these procedures.
Caution
Always use an electrostatic discharge (ESD) wristband when working with a powered ONS
15454. Plug the wristband cable into the ESD jack located on the lower-right outside edge
of the shelf assembly.

on the A-side BNC cover panel. Remove the alarm cover, if attached.

Step 4
Attach the foam standoffs:
a.
Peel the adhesive strip off the foam standoffs.
b.
Attach the long foam standoff to the upper inside area of the cover panel, .25 inches from the side
edge and .75 inches from the top edge.
c.
Attach the shorter foam standoff to the lower inside area of the cover panel, .25 inches from the side
edge and flush with the bottom edge.
Figure 1 shows the BNC cover panel with both foam standoffs attached.
