Network utilities
This section provides information about how to use the network utility tools:

: allows you to check that a particular host system is contactable from the Expressway and that your
network is correctly configured to reach it.

: allows you to discover the details of the route taken by a network packet sent from the
Expressway to a particular destination host system.

: allows you to discover the path taken by a network packet sent from the Expressway to a

: allows you to check which domain name server (DNS server) is responding to a request for a
particular hostname.
Ping
The
Ping
tool (
Maintenance > Tools > Network utilities > Ping
) can be used to assist in troubleshooting
system issues.

To use this tool:
1. In the Host field, enter the IP address or hostname of the host system you want to try to contact.
2. Click Ping.
A new section will appear showing the results of the contact attempt. If successful, it will display the

Traceroute
