Enable Calls to Lync
Command or Action
Purpose
Prepare the Gateway Expressway to work in your environment: 
configure DNS and NTP, and enter a cluster name
To route calls destined for Lync domains towards the Gateway 
Expressway
Secure the trunk to the Unified CM to enable encrypted media 
between Unified CM registered endpoints and Lync clients
Enable SIP TLS, trust the Gateway Expressway, and configure media 
encryption
To route calls destined for Lync domains towards the internal Lync 
environment
To verify this part of the configuration.

Configure the Gateway Expressway

Task 1: Configure DNS and Local Hostname
Configure the DNS Server Details
The Gateway Expressway(s) should be configured to use the same DNS server(s) as Lync Server.
On a Lync Server:
 
1.
From the Windows Start menu choose Run.
 
2.
Type 
cmd
 into the Open field and click OK. A command window opens.
 
3.
In the cmd.exe window type:
ipconfig /all
 
4.
Note down the DNS server(s).
