Gateway requirements
The following worksheet describes the MeetingPlace Directory Services 
Gateway requirements.
System
Description
Windows server 
requirements
• Windows 2000 server/workstation or Advanced Server edition 
(with Service Pack 2).
• 500MHz Pentium II/III processor
• 512MB RAM
• Hard drive with minimum 4GB available space (for 
installation and suspense files)
• NFTS partition
• Network Interface Card (100 Mbps)
• CD-ROM drive for software installation
• Microsoft Windows Networking Support
• Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 5.0 or later for 
recommended backup process)
• VGA (1028 x 768) display (SVGA recommended)

OTES
• The Windows 2000 account must log on as service on the 
gateway machine. 
• MeetingPlace Directory Services Gateway may reside on the 
same server as another MeetingPlace gateway if the user 
directory contains fewer than 10,000 records.
MeetingPlace server
• MeetingPlace 2000.2 (version 4.2.1 or later)
• MeetingPlace Directory Services Gateway license key
Network requirements
• TCP/IP protocol installed and running.
• TCP/IP port 389 is required to for MeetingPlace Directory 
Services to communicate with the corporate directory.
• Connectivity between the MeetingPlace Directory Services 
Gateway server and the MeetingPlace server must be high 
quality and must not be interrupted by traffic congestion. Any 
time the round trip latency exceeds 100ms or there is more 
than 1% packet loss, a noticeable reduction in service quality 
should be expected.
