Managing Ports
You can optimize resource usage by the way you designate port types and
manage port scheduling.
Designating Port Types
The connection between MeetingPlace and the telephone network is called a
port. The ports that connect MeetingPlace to the telephone network are
classified as access ports. Access ports are the total number of possible
simultaneous connections to MeetingPlace. All ports are automatically
designated as access ports.
How Ports are Distributed
A subset of your access ports are preconfigured as conference ports. There is
no physical difference between an access port and a conference port; the
distinction is purely logical. Access ports that are not configured as
conference ports are used for scheduling meetings and, if you have
MeetingNotes, for listening to recorded meetings.
