Upgrading a redundant deployment from version 14.4 or later
Before you upgrade the servers
Do the following on both Cisco TMS servers:
1. Disable file replication to temporarily stop synchronizing local files.
2. Stop all the TMS services, as well as the IIS service.
Upgrade the primary node
1. Upgrade the primary Cisco TMS server from 14.4 in the normal way.
2. Go to
Administrative Tools > TMS Server Maintenance
, and verify that the server is listed as Active in
the
TMS Redundancy
section. If it is listed as Passive, click Refresh repeatedly for up to a minute until
the data is updated correctly.
Upgrade the secondary node
1. Upgrade the secondary Cisco TMS server from 14.4 in the normal way.
2. Through the Virtual IP of the NLB, go to
Administrative Tools > TMS Server Maintenance
, and verify
that the second server appears as Passive in the
TMS Redundancy
section.
3. Verify that all TMS services (including TMSWeb) on the passive node appear as Service On Standby in
the
TMS Services Status
section.
5. Re-enable replication of local files between the two Cisco TMS nodes.

3. Change the Default Gateway so that the servers no longer use the NLB as their Default Gateway.
4. Verify that you still have network connectivity to managed systems, for example by browsing to a
managed system’s web interface.
