Swapping a System
All systems get an ID (TMS System ID) when first added to Cisco TMS. This ID is used as the system reference for book-
ing, permissions, and so on.

Should you need to replace a system due to theft, hardware failure, or similar, retaining the ID allows Cisco TMS to keep

It is not possible to swap:

remote endpoints.
■
an endpoint with a bridge or vice versa.

call control devices.

gateways.

recording servers.
While replacing bridges is possible, this is on a best effort basis and should be used with caution.
Conference Diagnostics must be run after any system has been replaced to check for any issues the replacement has

Disallowing Booking
When a system in Cisco TMS is out of order, or awaiting a swap, we recommend preventing it from accepting new book-

and click on the system you wish to replace.

Open the
Connection
tab.

Set Allow Bookings to
No.
4.
Click Save/Try.
Replacing the System
Follow this procedure to replace a system:
1.
Go to
Systems > Navigator
and click on the system you wish to replace.
2.
Click the Connection tab.
3.
Click Replace System.
4.
Search for the system in the folder tree or by typing part of the name in the search field and clicking Filter.
5.
Click Next.
A summary page is displayed.
6.
Choose whether to keep the system name, call configuration, and all system logs.
7.
Click OK.
8.
The swap will now be completed and the old system purged from Cisco TMS.
Endpoints on the Same Cisco VCS
Note that if you wish to replace the connection settings of the current system with the connection settings of another sys-
tem registered to the same Cisco VCS, a time delay for H.323 devices will influence the process.
