Setting/Transferring
The lithographic prints have a minimum period before
backing-up (recommend 24 hours). They also have a
maximum ‘open’ period in which they can be backed-
up, typically 5-6 days after printing. Therefore we would
recommend that the litho prints are backed-up 2-6 days
after printing.

TJA03 should be heat set at 100-130°C for 30-60

Transfer temperature should be slightly higher than for
standard Cold Peel transfers, i.e. 180-190°C for 10-15
seconds, with medium pressure. Allow to cool before

Fabrics
Litho transfers with TJA03 may be applied to most
natural and synthetic fabrics. Caution should be used
when applying transfers to heat sensitive fabrics. It is
strongly recommended that the lowest temperature is
used that will give adequate transfer properties and
wash resistance.

Certain fabrics, e.g. nylon bags, may require a higher
temperature than 180°C to accept a litho transfer
backed with TJA03. For these fabrics XM378 powder
may be required to be sprinkled over TJA03 prior to
setting, in order to obtain adequate resistance
properties.

Main characteristics
Thinning
TJA03 may be thinned with up to 3% ON591 Texopaque Advantage
Thinner, although this will effect opacity, and may alter adhesion
range.

Mesh
Nos. 21-43 monofilament are recommended. Thin deposits will
‘sink’ into the garment leading to a weak transfer and poor
adhesion. The design should be printed in reverse. Only the areas
where the litho print is backed-up will transfer to the garment.

Fastness
Prints will have good wash fastness to ISE test No.1 (40°C).
Incompatibility between the litho ink and TJA03 will cause the litho
ink to be washed off the back-up during laundering. Prints are not
suitable for drying cleaning or direct ironing and garments should be
marked to this affect.
