Configuring Defaults

Network Registrar Defaults

BAC provides Network Registrar (NR) extension points that let BAC pull information from an incom-
ing DHCP request to detect a device’s technology. They also let BAC respond to device DHCP requests
with options that correspond to the configuration stored at the DPE.

When the NR Defaults option is selected, the NR Defaults page (see

Figure 5-9

) appears.

Identifies the character string that is used to authenticate communication
between the CMTS and the DOCSIS device.

TFTP Modem Address
Option

Identifies whether the TFTP modem address option is enabled or not.

TFTP Time Stamp

Identifies whether or not the TFTP server will issue a time stamp.
