Cisco Active Network Abstraction 3.7.1 Release Notes
OL-21801-01
New Alarm, Trap, and Syslog Support
identifies the Cisco ANA Configuration and Image Management features that were validated on
the devices listed in
.
New Alarm, Trap, and Syslog Support
Cisco ANA 3.7.1 provides the following new features:
Wrapped syslog support—Syslogs-on-traps are enabled for devices on which syslogs are disabled.
With wrapped syslog support, Cisco ANA can parse the clogMessageGenerated trap (OID
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.2.0.1), wherein the device sends the syslog within the trap as varbinds.
Multisource event support—Cisco devices can send syslogs and traps from IP address sources other
than the device management IP address. With multisource event support, Cisco ANA can handle
these events that arrive from the alternate IP addresses.
For example, assume that a Cisco device has a management IP address of 10.10.10.10 and that
Cisco ANA manages this device by using the management IP address. When the device sends
syslogs and traps using another IP address, such as 10.1.1.1, Cisco ANA captures them, parses them,
and displays them in the Cisco ANA GUI.
The following topics describe the new service alarms, trap support, and syslog support provided in
Cisco ANA 3.7.1:
Service Alarm Severity Change
In Cisco ANA 3.7.1, the severity for the Link Down Due to Admin Down service alarm has changed
from Major to Minor.
