New Features and Functionality
Support for Generalized Multiprotocol
Label Switching (GMPLS) circuits
Label Switching (GMPLS) circuits
GMPLS is based on MPLS, with protocol extensions to support additional
technologies, including time division multiplexing (TDM) slots (such as
SONET and SDH), wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) wavelengths at
Layer 1, and fiber. You can manage the following using GMPLS circuits:
technologies, including time division multiplexing (TDM) slots (such as
SONET and SDH), wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) wavelengths at
Layer 1, and fiber. You can manage the following using GMPLS circuits:
•
Provisioning optical channels (OCHCC, OCHNC, and OCH Trail)
•
Circuit promotion
•
Validating optical circuits taking into account optical impairments
•
Rerouting wavelength for traffic restoration
•
Fiber attributes and alien wavelength provisioning
CPT 200 platform managed as a CPT NE
In Prime Optical 9.3 and Prime Optical 9.3.1, the CPT 200 platform was
managed as ONS 15454 SONET/ONS 15454 SDH NEs. In Prime Optical 9.5,
the CPT 200 platform is managed as a CPT NE.

CPT 600 platform managed as a CPT NE
In Prime Optical 9.3 and Prime Optical 9.3.1, the CPT 600 platforms were
managed as ONS 15454 SONET/ONS 15454 SDH NEs. In Prime Optical 9.5,

Support for VLAN attributes and Match All
criteria in Class Maps
criteria in Class Maps
VLAN attributes are supported. Enter a value from 1 to 4094 in the VLAN field
or ranges of VLANs [1-4094]. You can enter up to 30 values.
or ranges of VLANs [1-4094]. You can enter up to 30 values.
You can select the Match All criteria when creating a class map.
Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE
1588v2 Precision Time Protocol support on
the CPT System
1588v2 Precision Time Protocol support on
the CPT System
A separate external TDM circuit is required to provide synchronized timing to
multiple remote NEs for packet transport networks such as the CPT System.
The Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) feature addresses this requirement by
providing effective timing to the remote NEs through a packet network without
using an external circuit for timing.
multiple remote NEs for packet transport networks such as the CPT System.
The Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) feature addresses this requirement by
providing effective timing to the remote NEs through a packet network without
using an external circuit for timing.
The Timing property allows you to configure SyncE ports.
Discovery of DWDM pluggable line
insertion modules (PLIMs) on the Cisco
Aggregation Services Router 9000 (ASR
9000) R4.1.1
insertion modules (PLIMs) on the Cisco
Aggregation Services Router 9000 (ASR
