Message—Message description of a log entry

Read Java Log Instance Properties
The Read Java Log read-only page displays the properties used to retrieve Java logs on an SAP Java 
server.
  •
Log File—Log file name (server, database, etc.)
  •
Log Count—Number of logs to parse (log number is a suffix of a log file name)
  •
Match Pattern—A grep pattern to match log entries within log files
  •
Exclude Patterns—A comma-delimited list of regular expressions of filter patterns to exclude log 
entries
  •
Cluster ID—Java Cluster ID
  •
Maximum time frame for specified log entries—Check the check box and then specify the time 
window for the time frame to read log entries. The default window is the last 30 seconds. Uncheck 
the check box to disable the field.

Return matched log messages—Check the check box if you want matched log messages to be 
returned
  •
Maximum Number of Entries—If the Return matched log messages check box is checked, enter the 
maximum number of log entries to be read.
  •
Time out if not completed within—Time out interval (seconds, minutes) within which the activity 
must complete. The default is 60 seconds.
If the activity does not complete within the specified time out interval, the activity will fail with 
Failed (Not Completed) status.
SAP Java Shell Command Properties
Use the SAP Java Shell Command activity to execute a shell command on an SAP Java server. The 
activity will support only SAP Java application server targets that use Telnet connection.

Browse—Click Browse to launch the Select Shell Command dialog and select the Command and 
Command Group to populate the fields on this page.
  •
Command—Shell command name
  •
Command Group—Name of command group
  •
Parameter—Command parameters
  •
Cluster ID—Java Cluster ID
  •
Time out if not completed within—Time out interval (seconds, minutes) within which the Shell 
command must complete. The default is 60 seconds. If the command does not complete within the 
specified time out interval, the activity will fail with Failed (Not Completed) status.

Click the time unit link to change the timed out interval from seconds to minutes.
