Introduction
The Broadcast File System (BFS) is a software module within the Digital Broadband
Delivery System (DBDS) that is the primary means of communication between the
Digital Network Control System (DNCS) and Digital Home Communications
Terminals (DHCTs). Using a data carousel mechanism, the BFS stores files associated
with applications that are installed and registered on the DNCS or the application
server. These files are then transmitted frequently to DHCTs.

The contents of this document applies to sites that are using DNCS software release
(SR) 2.5, 3.5, or 4.0, and sites that are providing information to DHCTs within their
system using one of the following configurations:
