Backup Tape Considerations

The SR 2.5 and SR 3.5 upgrade procedures require that you back up the system 

components (Chapter 8). The scripts used to back up the DNCS and Application 

Server file systems and key files automatically detect the type of tape used for the 

backups.  
The script used to back up the Informix database is unable to detect the type of tape 

used for the backup. The Cisco engineer performing the backup may have to specify 

the tapesize and blocksize of the tape used for the backup of the Informix database. 
The chart in the following section, Tape Considerations, lists the various 4-mm and 

8-mm tapes that can be used to back up the Informix database. You can identify the 

tapesize and blocksize of the tape you are using to back up the Informix database by 

referencing this chart.
