Stop the cron Jobs on the DNCS
Stopping the cron Jobs on the DNCS.
Follow these instructions to stop the cron jobs on the DNCS.
1.
In the xterm window, type cd and then press Enter.
Result: The home directory on the DNCS becomes the working directory.

Follow these instructions, if necessary, to log in to the xterm window as root
user.
a) Type su - and then press Enter.

Result: The password prompt appears.
b) Type the root password and then press Enter.
3.
Type /etc/rc2.d/S75cron stop and then press Enter.
Result: The system stops all cron jobs on the DNCS.

Type . /dvs/dncs/bin/dncsSetup and then press Enter.
Important: Be sure to type the dot followed by a space prior to typing /dvs.
Result: The system establishes the root user environment.

5.
Wait a few moments and then type showActiveSessions and press Enter.
Result: One of the following messages appears:

A message indicating that the INFORMIXSERVER is idle

A message listing active sessions

Did the message in step 5 indicate that there are active sessions?

If yes, follow these instructions:
a) Type killActiveSessions and then press Enter.

Result: The system removes all active sessions from the database.
b) Type showActiveSessions again and then press Enter.
