Before You Begin
Before you begin the upgrade, ensure the following:

Do not remove any third-party applications files from the DNCS or change any
of their settings before beginning the upgrade process. This is useful if
troubleshooting assistance is needed after the upgrade by limiting the number of
changes made to the system.

Call Cisco Services and open an upgrade tracking case.

How Digital Services are Affected by the Installation
Note these important points about how digital services are affected by the
installation of this service pack:

Interactive services, such as pay-per-view (PPV) and anything-On-Demand
(xOD), will not be available during the maintenance window.

QAM, MQAM, GQAM, and QPSK modulators may need to be reset after the
installation of the software. While the modulators are resetting, services carried
on the modulators are briefly interrupted. Modulator resets require DHCTs to
reconnect to the network and this interrupts inactive services. It usually takes
about 5 minutes to reset each modulator.
