Follow these instructions to determine whether the Solaris 8 operating
system is installed on each Alarm Manager server.

From an xterm window on each Alarm Manager server, type uname -x
and then press Enter.
Result: The system displays the release number of operating system

Manager server is available for use.

grep 3050 /etc/services and then press Enter.

Notes:
If port 3050 does not appear in the output of the command, it is available
for use.
If an entry for this port does appear in the output, the port is available
for use as long as the comment portion of the entry indicates something
similar to "Cisco EMS Interbase Server".
