Follow these instructions to determine whether each Alarm Manager client
PC has at least 100 MB of free disk space in which to install the Alarm
Manager software.

On the Windows desktop, click Start.

Click Programs.

Click Accessories.

Click Command Prompt.
Result: The Command Prompt window opens.

Examine the last line of the output after completing step 5.

Note: Keep the Command Prompt window open; you will use it to answer
the next question.
Follow these instructions to determine whether each Alarm Manager client
PC can successfully ping each Alarm Manager server, as referenced by
section (B) in the pre-installation checklist diagram, by IP address and
hostname:

From the Command Prompt window, type ping [Alarm Manager
server IP address] and then press Enter.

From the Command Prompt window, type ping [Alarm Manager
server hostname] and then press Enter.

Did a message similar to device is alive appear each time?
Notes:
The device is alive message indicates that the ping operation was
successful.
Keep the Command Prompt window open; you will use it to answer the
next question.
