Before installing your Alarm Manager software, verify that all components have the 

necessary network connectivity as specified in the Pre-Installation Checklist section 

of Chapter 1. One sample network architecture is shown in the following illustration. 
Note:  You do not have to design your network as shown in the following 

illustration; it is just an example. 

 

Important:  Connecting a computer to a network presents a potential security risk. 

This guide assumes you have network security measures in place (for example, to 

protect your DNCS servers, Alarm Manager servers, Alarm Manager clients, etc.), 

and does not provide information on network security.
