5 Does the output from the command you executed in step 4 include any open
user interface processes?
If yes, follow these instructions.
a Determine whether the open user interface processes can be terminated.

b If you determine that the user interface process should be terminated, as
root user type kill [process ID] and then press Enter.

6 Type . /dvs/dncs/bin/dncsSetup and then press Enter. This command
establishes the DNCS environment as a root user.

7 Insert the Alarm Manager CD into the CD-ROM drive of the DNCS. The system
automatically mounts the CD to /cdrom/cdrom0.
8 Type df -n and then press Enter. A list of the mounted filesystems appears.
Note: The presence of /cdrom in the output confirms that the system correctly
mounted the CD.
9 Type cd /cdrom/cdrom0 and then press Enter. The /cdrom/cdrom0 directory
becomes the working directory.
10 Type ls -la and then press Enter to generate a list of the files on the CD.
Note: The "l" is this command is a lowercase L.
11 Type ./install_pkg and then press Enter. The system displays a copyright
message and prompts the operator to press Enter to continue.
12 Press Enter.
Result: One of the following results occurs:
If Spectrum is installed on your system, the system displays a bold message
that seeks permission to disable Spectrum.
Note: Spectrum and Alarm Manager cannot run simultaneously.

If Spectrum is not installed on your system, the system displays the following
