Process Overview
Introduction
This section describes the process for installing the TED FX server. The subsequent
chapters of this guide provide the specific instructions to accomplish each stage.
Process
The following table describes the process for installing the TED FX server. To
successfully install the TED FX server, you must complete each process listed in the
order given.
Stage Description

Unpack the TED FX server from the carton to verify the parts and the quantity.

Install the server in an area with restricted access.

Connect the TED FX server to your DNCS/ISDS to provide communication
between the servers.

Verify the communications with the TED FX server from the DNCS/ISDS.

Verify your System Rev version.

Stop the DNCS/ISDS processes.

Download the TED files from the DNCS/ISDS to the TED FX server.

Choose one of the following:
Initialize the TED FX server if the DNCS/ISDS has never been initialized with
the PowerKEY Conditional Access software.
Re-initialize the TED FX server if you are completing one of the following
tasks:

Replacing an existing TED or TED FX server
–
Initializing a DNCS/ISDS that has been previously initialized
–
Initializing a back-up TED FX server

Restart the DNCS/ISDS processes after completing all previous steps.

Store your portion of the CAA Pass Phrase and the TED FX Chassis Padlock Key
in a secure location (preferably a safe).
