Initialize the PowerKEY CA System
Introduction
PowerKEY CA ensures that only an authorized subscriber can access a secured
service. As part of the PowerKEY CA system, the PowerKEY CAA keys, the
Entitlement Agent (EA) pass phrase, and the Factory Root Certificate Authorization
Key must be initialized. This section provides instructions for initializing the
PowerKEY CAA keys, the EA pass phrase, and the Factory Root Certificate
Authorization Key.

Only initialize the PowerKEY CA system if your DNCS/ISDS has never been
initialized. If your DNCS/ISDS has been initialized, see Re-Initialize the
PowerKey CA System (on page 24).
Store your portion of the CAA Pass Phrase and the TED FX Chassis Padlock Key
in a secure location (preferably a safe).
Initializing the PowerKEY CAA Keys and the EA Pass Phrase
Complete these steps to initialize the PowerKey CAA Keys and the EA Pass Phrase
on the DNCS/ISDS and the TED FX server.

To ensure the security of your system, an SA installer must be present when you
are ready to complete these instructions in this section. Only SA installers know
the other portion of the CAA Pass Phrase that is necessary to complete these
instructions.

phrases, see Safeguarding Pass Phrases (on page 37).
Note: All UNIX commands are case-sensitive.
1 Open an xterm window on the DNCS/ISDS and log on as the dncs user.
2 Type export EMCDEBUG= and press Enter.
3 Type export EMCERROR= and press Enter.
4 Insert the Customer CAA CD into the CD-ROM drive on the DNCS/ISDS.
