Standard Instructions
Introduction
You must follow the standard instructions to successfully power down, power up, or
reboot the TED FX server. This section provides instructions for powering down,
powering up, and rebooting the TED FX server.
Powering Down the TED FX Server
Complete these steps to properly power down the TED FX server.
Note: All UNIX commands are case-sensitive.
1 Open an xterm window on the DNCS/ISDS.
2 Type su and press Enter. The password prompt appears.
3 Type your password and press Enter.

4 Type rsh dncsted shutdown –h now and press Enter.

Powering Up the TED FX Server
When the TED FX server has been powered down, complete these steps to properly
power up the TED FX server.

4 Verify that the power cord is tightly inserted into the power receptacle on the
back panel of the TED FX server and into a 120 V AC power source.
