15  Verify that the ssh daemon is running by entering pgrep -fl sshd. If it is running, 
the daemon will include a PID next to the service. 
Example: 
[root@dncsted ~]# 
pgrep –fl sshd 
4391 /usr/sbin/sshd
 
5254 sshd: root@pts/0
 
16  Is the power LED illuminated on the front panel of the TED server? 
 
If yes, go to Restart System Components (on page 58). 
 
If no, contact Cisco Services for assistance. 
Restart System Components 
After completing the instructions in the previous sections, your next step is to restart 
the system components. You must complete the procedures in this section to restart 
the following system components in the order listed: 
 
DNCS/ISDS processes 
 
Application server processes (if necessary) 
 
If using the RCS feature, restart RNCS processes at each remote site 
 
Restarting the Application Server 
This section provides procedures for restarting the Application Server. 
Note: Only follow this procedure if you have a Cisco Application Server. Otherwise, 
follow your Application Server's instructions for this procedure. 
 
1  Press the middle mouse button on the DNCS/ISDS and select App Serv Start
2  From an xterm window on the DNCS/ISDS, type appControl and then press 
Enter. The Applications Control window opens. 
3  Select option 2 on the Applications Control window. The system displays a list of 
Application Server processes and their current status. 
Note: The system updates the display periodically, or you can press Enter to 
force an update. 
When the Application Control window indicates that the current state (Curr Stt
of each process is running, follow the on-screen instructions to close the 
Applications Control window. 
 
Restarting the DNCS/ISDS 
1  
Open an xterm window on the DNCS/ISDS. 
2  Log on to the DNCS/ISDS as the root user (or as yourself) and then type the 
following command and press Enter to assume the dncs role. 
su - dncs
