Overview of the mvsrcid Utility
The primary function of the mvsrcid utility is to convert DNCS source IDs to source
IDs that are used by TV Guide. The information in this section describes the various
steps that the system operator must accomplish in order to convert the source IDs.
1 The system operator begins the process by running the mvsrcid utility with the
IDs that are used by TV Guide. The information in this section describes the various
steps that the system operator must accomplish in order to convert the source IDs.
1 The system operator begins the process by running the mvsrcid utility with the
-b option. The -b option backs up the database tables that are involved in the
conversion process, before the source IDs are converted. This way, should the
conversion of source IDs fail for some reason, these database tables can be
restored to their original state (-r option).
