Specify How Many Times a Subscriber Can Try
to Enter a Blocking PIN
Introduction
The Blocking PIN Invalid Tries option lets you specify how many times a subscriber
can try to enter an incorrect blocking PIN within a specified time frame before being
locked out from the channel.
Lockout Parameters
The Blocking PIN Invalid Tries option works in conjunction with the Trial Timer,
Lockout Time, and Enable Blocking PIN Lockout options to determine whether a
channel is locked out.
Example: Assume the attributes are set as follows:

Invalid Tries – 3
•
Trial Timer – 1 minute
•
Lockout Time – 30 minutes
•
Enable Blocking PIN Lockout – Enabled
In this case, if a subscriber enters three incorrect PINs within 1 minute, the set-top
will lock out the channel for 30 minutes.
