Configuring the JDBC Adapter
Overview
The JDBC adapter software is installed as part of a normal installation of CWA. However, you must perform the following
steps to license, configure, secure, and deploy the adapter before you can run JDBC jobs:
 – License the connection(s) using JDBC. You cannot define a connection using JDBC
until you have applied the JDBC license from Cisco.
 – Configure the JDBC libraries for use with CWA. Also describes some
configuration properties that can be defined in service.props.
See also
for additional information about general and JDBC-specific properties
that can be set to control things like logging and connection properties.
 – Create one or more user definitions in CWA with access to the database that
you are connecting to via JDBC using user names and passwords provided by the database administrator. Users in
CWA are authorized to run JDBC jobs on behalf of these database runtime users.
 – Define connections using JDBC so that the master can communicate
with your databases.
Licensing an Adapter
Each CWA Adapter must be separately licensed. You cannot use an Adapter until you apply the license file. If you
purchase the Adapter after the original installation of CWA, you will receive a new license file authorizing the use of the
Adapter.
You might have a Demo license which is good for 30 days, or you might have a Permanent license. The procedures to
install these license files are described below.
