Configuring a syslog policy enables you to specify the level of syslog messages to log and where to log the messages.

Choose Policy Management > Device Configurations > root > Policies > Syslog.

In the Syslog table, choose default, and then click Edit.

In the Edit Syslog Policy dialog box, click the Servers tab.

In the Syslog Policy table, choose the primary server type, and then click Edit.

In the Edit Syslog Client dialog box, provide the following information, and then click OK in the open dialog boxes:

• Hostname/IP Address—Enter the syslog server IP address or hostname.

• Severity—Choose information (6).

• Admin State—Choose enabled.

Prime Network Services Controller enables you to set system-wide logging for the policy engine.

Choose Policy Management > Device Configurations > root > Device Profiles > default.

In the Device Profiles pane, click the Policies tab.

In the Policy Engine Logging area at the lower-right of the Policies tab, click Enabled, and then click Save.
