How to Create an ODBC Connection to the Reporting Database
How to Create an ODBC Connection to the Reporting
Database
After you install InfoMaker, you need to establish an ODBC connection to the distributor Admin
Workstation where the reporting database resides.
Note
Create an ODBC connection to the AW database only. Both real-time and historical reports are run
against the distributor AW database, which has views into the Historical Data Server (HDS).
Creating the ODBC connection is a two-part procedure. First, you set up the ODBC driver in Windows
Control Panel. Then you create a database profile in the InfoMaker application. This section explains
both procedures.
Setting Up the ODBC Driver in Windows Control Panel
Follow these steps to set up the ODBC Driver in Windows Control Panel:
Step 1
Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Step 2
From the Control Panel menu, select Administrative Tools > Data Sources (ODBC) to launch the
ODBC Data Source Administrator.
Step 3

SQL Server
Step 5
