Chapter 1      Getting Started with InfoMaker
Where to Install InfoMaker
Where to Install InfoMaker
InfoMaker must be located on a separate machine that has network connections to the WebView server
and the distributor Admin Workstation.
Effective with WebView 7.0(0), you must not install InfoMaker on the WebView server or on a
distributor Admin Workstation where WebView is installed. InfoMaker installs certain
DLL
 (dynamic
link library) files that must be in a separate space from the
DLL
files called by the software installed with
WebView. If you have upgraded from a prior release, the administrator who performed the upgrade was
instructed to remove InfoMaker software from the WebView server.
For WebView to work correctly, the machine where you install InfoMaker:
  •
Must have an ODBC connection to the reporting databases on the distributor Admin Workstation.
See
  •
Must have a network connection to the shared folder on the WebView server where templates are
stored. See
How to Install InfoMaker
Step 1
Close any open applications.
Step 2
Suspend the Cisco Security Agent, if it is running on the machine.
Step 3
Insert the CD for Sybase InfoMaker, ver. 10.x, into the CD-ROM drive and wait for AutoRun to launch
the Welcome screen for the installation. If Autorun does not begin, navigate to the
setup.exe
 file for
the CD and double-click it.
