CONTRAST Menu

Appears when you select an option other 
than MULTI in AE AREA.
Selects the detection method of the 
luminance level of the selected AE window.

 Selects to detect the average 

luminance level of the whole AE window.

 Selects to detect the part with the 

highest luminance level.

Adjusts the iris with the IRIS control on the 
RM-C950 remote control unit. 
In this option, you can also set the auto 
exposure focusing point and the AE (auto 
exposure) window. Setting procedure is the 
same as that in AUTO.

The CONTRAST menu is used to adjust the 
contrast of the image. 

Selects the setting suitable for the incident 
luminance levels.

Selects KNEE POINT setting or BLACK 
STRETCH.

Sets the knee point according to the 
incoming light levels.

 Knee processing does not function.

 Sets the knee point to the highest 

level.

 Normally, select this position.

 Sets the knee point to the lowest 

level.

Adjusts the luminance of the dark portion of 
the screen.
You can set the value within the range from 
–10 to +10. The higher the setting, the 
brighter the screen.

When shooting a very bright object, the 
whole screen may white out or a part of the 
image may be colorless. This setting 
minimizes these phenomena.
