The disc capacities shown are before formatting. You cannot record or play both sides of double-
sided discs at the same time.

Actual reading and writing performance of this unit depends on the condition of the disc, drive, and
recording format and therefore may not be fully delivered.

When this unit was shipped from the factory, the Non-cartridge Disc Write Setting was set to the
“Enable to write” mode but you may not write to some non-cartridge type DVD-RAM discs. You can
write only to non-cartridge type DVD-RAM discs whose Disc Type Identification of the control data
is set to the “Enable to write” mode.
Fingerprints, dirt, dust, and scratches on the recording surface of discs can affect the reading and
writing of data, so follow completely “Handling notes” on page 142.
