Settings for the Main Menu Item [Other settings]

Press the [MENU] button to display the Main menu on 
the TV screen.

Press the [Cursor] button (

) to select [Other 

settings] then press the [OK] button.

Tape length:
• Press the [Cursor] buttons (

length to be used.
AUTO(

 E-240): For E30, -60, -90, -120 -180 and 

-240 tapes

E-195:

For E195 tape

E-260:

For E260 tape

E-300:

For E300 tape

Audio playback:
• Press the [Cursor] buttons (

) to select the type of 

audio mode to be used during playback.
NORMAL:

Normally set to this position.

MIX:

Use this setting when playing back a 
cassette tape on which audio dubbing 
has been performed. 
The Hi-Fi sound track with the original 
sound and the normal sound track 
(mono) with the audio-dubbed sound 
are played back together.

SQPB (For NV-FJ730B):
• Press the [Cursor] buttons (

34

) to select [AUTO], 

[ON] or [OFF]. 
Normally set to [AUTO]. 
VCR automatically detects the format in which the 
recording was made and selects the same format for 
playback. 
However, picture distortion may appear. 
In this case, set to [ON] or [OFF].
ON:

Use this setting when playing back a 
cassette tape recorded in the S-VHS format.
• Noisy playback pictures may appear 

depending on the type of tape used.

• It is not possible to obtain the high 

resolution that S-VHS is capable of.

• It is not possible to record in the S-VHS 

format with this VCR.

OFF:

Use this setting when playing back a 
cassette tape recorded in the VHS format 
only.

• For NV-FJ780B,VCR automatically detects the 

format in which the recording was made and selects 
the same format for playback. 

VCR display:
• Press the [Cursor] buttons (

) to select the 

desired setting.

• When the VCR is switched off, the brightness of the 

VCR display is as follows:
ON:

Display is brightly lit.

DIMMED:

Display is dimly lit.
