These answers to frequently asked questions should help you 
solve problems with the cordless telephone system yourself.
How far can I go from the home base station 
without the cordless phone failing?
In the house the limit is approximately 50 metres, 
outside up to 300 metres.
Can somebody eavesdrop on me?
This is not possible because of the digital techniques 
and encryption which is used.
Do I get a warning before the batteries run out?
An alarm sounds when approximately fifteen minutes 
calling time is left.
How can I subscribe a cordless phone to a home 
base station?
To subscribe a cordless phone you need the PARK 
code and the authentication code of the home base 
station. How to subscribe is explained in 
“Subscribing cordless phones” under “Extra features”.
What should I do if the cordless phone dials a 
number as soon as I press a key?
What should I do if I do not hear anything when 
I pick up the cordless phone?
The red light on the home base station is flashing. 
The home base station is not properly connected to 
the telephone line. Check the telephone cable.
I can not use on the cordless phone. Why not?
You see four dashes displayed. You must enter the 
PIN code for the cordless phone (default is 0000). See 
“Extra security for cordless phone using PIN code” 
under “Extra features”.
Why do I keep on hearing the dial tone after I 
dialled a number?
If you dialled a number and still hear the dial tone, 
you probably have to set the home base station to 
another dialling method. See “Tone or pulse dialling” 
under “Settings” for more details.
