If the {Fax} light is OFF, turn it ON by pressing

When a fax tone is heard:
Press {Black}.
When the other party answers your call:
Lift the handset and ask them to press their start 
button. When the fax tone is heard, press {Black}.
Note:

After pressing {Black}, you can replace the handset.

Do not open the document cover when sending a fax 
with the automatic document feeder.
Pre-dialling a fax number
1. Enter the fax number.
2. Set the original (page 23). i {Black}
Sending from memory (Quick scan feature)
1. Set the original (page 23).

7.2 Sending a fax using one-
touch dial feature and navigator 
directory
Before using this feature, store the desired names and 
telephone numbers into one-touch dial feature and 
navigator directory (page 46).

Make sure that the {Fax} light is ON.
7.2.1 Using the scanner glass

Set the original (page 22).

If necessary, change to the desired resolution (page 
48) and
 the desired contrast (page 48).

Enter the fax number.
Using stations 1–3:
Press the desired station key.
Using stations 4–6:
Press {Lower}, then press the desired station key.
Using navigator directory:
Press {Directory}, then press {V} or {^} repeatedly 
to display the desired item.

To send a single page, skip to step 6.

To send multiple pages, go to the next step.

Press {Quick Scan} to scan the document into 
memory.

Place the next page. i {Set}

To send more pages, repeat this step.

Fax auto redial
If the line is busy or if there is no answer, the unit will 
automatically redial the number 2 or more times.
