Maximum titles
It is not possible to record to
storage cards.
The internal hard disk saves up to 355 hours of recordings when set to [EP ( 8 Hours )].
You can copy your data at a high speed from the hard disk to DVD-RAM, DVD-R, DVD-
RW (DVD Video format) or +R (DUBBING).
You cannot record to the hard disk and a DVD at the same time. Continuous recording or
playback of both sides of a double-sided disk is not possible. Digital sound signals cannot
be recorded. Digital programmes that are limited to one-time recording cannot be
recorded to DVD-R-, DVD-RW-, +R- or 8cm DVD-RAM discs.
Record to the hard disk or to a CPRM-compatible DVD-RAM.
Before recording
Recording information
Automatic title transfer
For recordings programmed from the TV Guide, the name of the selected programme
is automatically transferred to the recording.
If a sender broadcasts video text, the unit automatically records the name of the
programme and the station, provided that [Title Page] is set correctly.
The launching of the title can take approx. 10 minutes with this unit and may fail in
some cases.
Other possible functions
during recording
You can only change the channel or recording mode in pause mode.
The material is then saved as a separate title.
If you are using an unformatted DVD-RAM or DVD-RW, you must format
it before the first recording.
Longer recordings are broken down into 8-hour segments.
When the recording is complete, the unit takes approx. 30 seconds to record
administration information. The first 30 seconds of a recording may be missing if you perform
TIMER-controlled recordings one after the other.
If you want to play a disc recorded using this unit on another playback unit, you must
first finalise the disc.
The recording is saved wherever there is free space. If there is no more space on the
destination drive, you must delete recording or use a new disc.

To start recording immediately, press the record button   REC
[EP ( 6Hours )] provides better sound quality than [EP ( 8Hours )].
If you have activated the write-protection, cancel it.
