8.1 Operating additional units
8.1.1 Additional cordless handsets
Up to 6 cordless handsets can be registered to a single
base unit. Additional cordless handsets will give you the
freedom to, for example, have an intercom call with
another cordless handset while a third cordless handset
is on an outside call.
Important:
The additional cordless handset model
recommended for use with this unit is noted on
page 9. If another cordless handset model is
used, certain operations (cordless handset
settings, base unit settings, etc.) may not be
available.
8.2 Registering a cordless
handset to a base unit
The supplied cordless handset and base unit are
pre-registered. If for some reason the cordless handset
is not registered to the base unit (for example,   flashes
even when the cordless handset is near the base unit),
re-register the cordless handset.
After purchasing an additional cordless handset, register
it to the base unit. Ensure that the additional cordless
handset is switched ON. If it is not ON, press and hold
M
N for few seconds to turn the cordless handset ON.

Press and hold MLOCATORN on the base unit for
about 3 seconds, until the registration tone sounds.
R After pressing MLOCATORN, the rest of this
procedure must be completed within 1 minute.

Wait until “Base PIN” is displayed, then enter the
base unit PIN (default: “0000”), then press 
.
R If you forget your PIN, consult your nearest
Panasonic service centre.
R When the cordless handset has been registered
successfully,   will stop flashing. If keytones are
turned ON (page 45), a confirmation tone will be
heard.
Note:
R Charge the batteries of your additional cordless
handset for about 7 hours before initial use.
R When you purchase an additional cordless handset,
refer to the additional cordless handset’s installation
manual for registration.
8.2.1 Deregistering a cordless handset
A cordless handset can cancel its own registration (or the
registration of another cordless handset) that is stored to
the base unit. This allows the cordless handset to end its
wireless connection with the system.

R The numbers of all cordless handsets registered
to the base unit are displayed.

Select the cordless handset(s) you want to cancel, by
pressing the desired cordless handset number. A
R The selected cordless handset number(s)
flashes.
R To cancel a selected cordless handset number,
press the number again. The number stops
flashing.

“Yes” A 
R A confirmation tone sounds as each cordless
handset number disappears.
R The cordless handset does not beep when
cancelling its own registration.

8.2.2 Increasing the range of the base unit
You can increase the signal range of the base unit by
using a DECT repeater. Please use only Panasonic
DECT repeater. See page 9 for accessory information.
Contact your Panasonic retailer/dealer for details.
Important:
Before registering the repeater to this base unit,
you must turn the repeater mode ON.
Do not use more than one repeater at a time.

Note:
R After turning repeater mode ON or OFF,   flashes
on the cordless handset momentarily. This is normal
and the cordless handset can be used once   stops
flashing.
8.3 Intercom
Intercom calls can be made between a cordless handset
and the base unit, and between 2 cordless handsets. You
can page all cordless handsets at once from the base
unit.
